John Smith was an actor but only famous around his theatre fans. Every night for 18 years he perfomed somewhere in the theatre in the West End. He was also knighted but stripped of it later. He always played minor roles. He seems plain as he is realitively unknown. He is able to disguise himself as anyone with his suberb acting skills. He was entrusted with a Gentleman book, The Book of Transcendentalism, from the British Museum Library. However, he sold the book and used the money to create his own city, as a set to act in as he pleased, as a stage for him to act out his own scripts.

He was born in London and joined the Secret Service in World War 2.

In the manga, John used to be a terrorist. He is very scary and aggressive.
