Sana and Akito's Relationship
**note: This is just my weird way of thinking about how I perceive their relationship. I believe that most people think that they are complete opposites, but I believe they are more similar than different. Anyway, this also contains some spoilers. >< sorry.**
As a child, Kurata Sana had a rough time growing up. Despite living with the knowledge that her biological mother abandoned her, she was cheerful and happy all the time. She actually was a very cheerful girl, but there were sometimes when even she too was sad. During those times, she just continued to smile and put others before herself. Despite her tries, it was still impossible to always pretend to be happy all the time and on a few occurrences she did become depressed from hiding all of the emotions.
She was found by Kurata Misako who took her in as her own. She raised Sana and decided that she wanted to find Sana's true mother. Sana grew up with having fun all the time being goofy. She hid any sad emotions, except the one time when Mama(Kurata Misako) tried to explain the truth about her mother.
Since Mama decided that she wanted to find Sana's true mother, she explained to Sana that Sana would need to be a little more famous than a typical girl. Mama herself would become a famous author. And so, Sana's acting career began. Always happy and cheerful, she was able to touch everyone's lives throughout Japan as she was in the TV show, Child's Toy. Her natural charisma made her famous and the role model for everyone.
Being famous and devoting all her time to acting gave Sana very little time for social events and school. She greatly disappointed her best friend when she forgot to go to the birthday party because she was so exhausted from the day's work. Even though she was always tired and stressed with all the work, she continued to always be hyper and happy.
Sana was able to deceive everyone but Hayama Akito. He saw through Sana's best act. He was able to understand her like no one else.
Even though it was Akito who understood Sana first, it was Sana who reached out to help Akito with his family problems. She healed the tensions due to his mother's death in Akito's family, between him, his sister, and his father. Sana did this by acting in a made for TV movie where it portrayed the exact situation. Sana played Akito's role in the movie. Akito's family watched it and they understood how they had been treating him or blaming him for the mother's death.
Then Akito helped Sana. When she was going to quit acting, he told her that she should do what she really wanted and loved. Sana then decided she would better balance out work and friends.
The few rare moments Sana showed her true self, she was with Akito. It could be seen that her eyes were already like those of adults. She was mature and already knew the adult world. Even though she pretended to be immature and childish, she was really the opposite. Akito understood this and was the only one who knew the adult Sana.
When Akito realized he loved her, he wanted to be good enough for Sana and he soon took up Karate. When Sana asked him why he was doing it, he was too shy to say, so he made a reference to the night when Naozomi, another actor, told him he wasn't good enough for Sana.
It wasn't long before Sana's acting career grew to be more serious and demanded that she go away from home for a while for a production. While she was away, things changed. A rumor started that Sana was with Naozumi. Akito was devastated. He hid it though and soon began being with Fuka, one of Sana's friends. While Sana was away, she did become close with Naozumi, but it wasn't until after she returned and found Akito with Fuka, that her heart became broken and she decided to be with Naozumi.
With different people who were more similar to them, it seemed that Akito and Sana were happy. But there was something missing and they both felt it. Akito was the only one who truly understood Sana, and Sana was the only one who truly understood Akito. Both of them grew up hiding their true selves and emotions, and they only revealed their true personalities with each other. Soon they both realized that they would never be truly happy without each other. When Sana returned for the second time, they realized they were in love but also scared to admit their feelings to each other.
